  • Spain, as most of the modern countries, is trying not to loose the train of the new technologies around the hydrogen and fuel cells. In this way, the government and the private industries and companies are investment money and time on research and development on “the hydrogen economy”. But in this race to get the most advanced results it is necessary to coordinate the activities in order to reach a better success.
That is the target of the “Spanish Hydrogen and Fuel Cell Platform”, to facilitate and accelerate the development and use of the hydrogen technologies in Spain; to coordinate the actuation of the private and public sector and to push a national strategy.
To reach its targets, the platform has started identifying the state of the art of these technologies in Spain: which are the main actuations lines and project , the actual installations (test laboratories, hydrogen production plants, demo fuel cells applications…) and who are the actors involved on any step of this chain: hydrogen production, storage and distribution, fuel cells technologies, safety, education and training…
Related to the prospect the platform is following two ways, it has proposed a strategy that includes recommendations, time and budget needed, and also it is analysing the results got from the European project Hyways.
In this presentation I am going to show these activity lines, the main projects and what kind of institutions are involved on it, and also to have a look on the prospects for the near future.
