The Reneable Hydrogen Filling Station of Tomorrow
The „Renewable Hydrogen Filling Station of Tomorrow“ is constructed in Graz/Austria, in which the electrolytic production of renewable hydrogen with renewable electricity in combination with the use of oxygen and heat is demonstrated in practical operation. In the cause of „driving events“ with hydrogen vehicles the practical operation of this filling station with renewable hydrogen is demonstrated for (inter)national experts and a wider interested public. In these “driving events” future users of these technologies will be invited, e.g. vehicle fleet operators, filling station operators, to show the possibilities for the medium-term market introduction of renewable hydrogen as an alternative fuel for tomorrow. The focus of the demonstration project is the verification via measurement of the function of the different compounds of the co-production and use of hydrogen, oxygen and heat, their integration in the existing HyCentA filling station infrastructure and the verification under every day conditions.
Base on the existing feasibility study the technical details of the components of the filling station for renewable hydrogen at HyCentA are specified. The necessary development of prototypes for the interfaces between the electrolyses and the oxygen, heat and hydrogen use are developed. A concept for the measurement activities for evaluation of the practical operation is developed for stationary and variable operation conditions.
The equipment is installed in modules (possibly in containers.
The demonstration project is based on PPP with the relevant industries and public bodies in cooperation with R&D.
